He’s climbed extensively across North America, with ascents of big walls in Yosemite, high peaks in the Tetons, icy mixed lines across the Rockies, and alpine scrambles in the Cascades and Sierra. He’s happiest though when hanging off a set of ice tools and scratching his way up steep ice routes in Vermont, Colorado or the rugged coastal mountains of Newfoundland.

After a brief tour into the world of mountain guiding, Taylor saw how powerful the outdoor recreation community could be to influence environmental policy and rural economic development. He pursued a dual Masters in Environmental law, policy and science and joined the American Alpine as their Policy Director where he worked on behalf of the national climbing community to advocate for public land protections, action on climate change, and increasing equitable access to the outdoors. Today he serves as the Conservation Manager for the Western North Cascades at the Wilderness Society where he continues his work to protect public lands. He’s the co-founder of the Durango Climbers Coalition and a former board member of Friends of Indian Creek .

Taylor says “I’m most excited to join the good work of the WCC to expand our impact on state and federal recreation policy through our engagement with Outdoor Alliance, WA and as an LCO with the Access Fund. Gabe’s familial and cultural roots have provided him with a strong sense of identity, respect for his natural surroundings, and an appreciation of those who share his passion. As often as possible, this small band of climbers throw themselves into this great wilderness that surrounds us in search of the perfect boulder problems to tackle individually, with the support of all.

Cece Venzon

When she’s not climbing walls and peaks along the West Coast, CeCe teaches at the Mountaineers and cherishes opportunities to show adults and teens awesome things about mountaineering!

Walter Jordan

Walter Jordan joined the WCC Board in 2018 after starting the Yakima Climbing Scene, a community climbing group and WCC affiliate organization in Yakima. I have always enjoyed problem solving and being outdoors, so climbing has been one of my favorite activities for quite some time. My interest for the sport grew even more when I moved to Washington, and I love traveling around the world, exploring new climbing areas. When I am not climbing or biking, I spend my days working in data analytics and public opinion research. I joined the WCC Board in the fall of 2024 and recently took on the role of Treasurer.
I am so appreciative of all the outdoor experiences Washington has to offer and am excited to be more involved in the local climbing community.”

Ethan Law

Ethan joined the WCC Board in March 2025.
